Sticky Fingers Harvest Ale Recipe

Kevin Selvy, founder and CEO of Loopy Mountain Brewing Firm in Vail, Colorado, shared this recipe for a tasty wet-hops harvest ale.

ALL-GRAIN

OG: 1.zero60
FG: 1.012
IBUs: 63
ABV: 6.5%

MALT/GRAIN BILL

10.75 lb (four.88 kg) Pale malt
zero.5 lb (227 g) Crystal 20
zero.5 lb (227 g) Crystal 40
zero.5 lb (227 g) Crystal 60

HOPS SCHEDULE

1 oz (28 g) Chinook pellets at 60 minutes
zero.75 oz (21g) Chinook pellets at 21 minutes
eight oz (227 g) Chinook moist hops at 7 minutes
eight oz (227 g) Cascade moist hops at 7 minutes
5 oz (142 g) Chinook moist hops at knockout
5 oz (142 g) Cascade moist hops at knockout

DIRECTIONS

Mash at 152°F (67°C) for 60 minutes. Boil for 60 minutes following the hops schedule.

YEAST OPTIONS

Wyeast 1056 American Ale, White Labs WLP001 California Ale, or Fermentis US-05

Vail Valley water may be very exhausting. Right here’s the water profile we use (it’s a fairly typical Burton-style water profile) if you wish to match it:
